After a whirlwind week across the Midwest, I’m finally catching my breath and reflecting on the moments that made this trip one to remember. From aviation partnerships to small-town charm, and from industry giants to personal reunions—this journey had it all.
It all began at JB Aviation, where we continued our commitment to delivering training excellence. Seeing our work come to life in real environments is always rewarding, and Justin’s hospitality made the experience even more special.
Further down the road, I spent time with Bruce Griffith—someone whose dedication to aviation education continues to shape new generations of pilots. His influence, especially at Kishwaukee Education Center, can’t be overstated. Every conversation with Bruce feels like a gentle reminder of why we do what we do.
Of course, no trip this time of year would be complete without attending AirVenture 2025. The sights, the sounds, and most importantly, the people made it an unforgettable experience. Catching up with the Betka and Moonen families warmed my heart—it’s these reunions that turn work trips into meaningful memories.
Somewhere in all the planning, conversations, and early mornings, I found a deeper appreciation for what the “Midwest” really is. (And yes, Fred, we’re still figuring out where it starts and ends!) But the truth is, it’s less about geography and more about the people who make this region feel like home.
This week also marked a significant collaboration—working alongside Jim and Lisa Rhodes, as well as Julie, to navigate a complex and ever-changing market. It wasn’t easy. But we made progress. Real progress.

As I pack up and prepare to head home, I’m filled with gratitude. It’s been a long week. A productive week. And honestly—I’m ready for a good night’s sleep in my own bed. But above all, this trip reminded me of something I hold dear: It’s never just about the destination—it’s always about the journey.
Until next time, Midwest.
