My Kiddo's
Today we escaped into one of my favorite little Florida gems — Mount Dora — and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect.
While much of the country is bundled up, scraping ice off windshields and dreaming of spring, we were walking the streets in 80-degree sunshine, kids laughing, palm trees swaying, and that unmistakable Florida winter glow in the air. Days like this are a gentle reminder of why living here feels like cheating sometimes.
The Mount Dora Farmers Market was in full swing — local vendors, fresh fruits, baked goods, handmade crafts, and that relaxed small-town energy that makes you slow down without even realizing it. The kids wandered from booth to booth, eyes wide at every treat and trinket, while live music drifted through the streets like the soundtrack to a perfect Saturday.
There’s something special about Mount Dora — the brick sidewalks, the historic charm, the lake breeze, and the way the town feels like it’s welcoming you back even if it’s been a while. It’s not rushed. It’s not loud. It’s just… easy.
Today wasn’t about a schedule or a destination. It was about sunshine, fresh air, good conversation, and time with the kids — the kind of day that doesn’t need much more than that.
While winter tightens its grip everywhere else, we were out enjoying blue skies, warm temperatures, and one of Florida’s most charming towns doing exactly what it does best — reminding you to enjoy the moment.
Mount Dora, you never disappoint.
