Last month, I went to Zurich and spent some time wandering through museums. Now, looking back at my photographs, I’m beginning to think the trip might become something more than a collection of memories.
Museums have a way of making me look more carefully. There’s the work itself, of course, but also the choices around it: how pieces sit together, the space between them, what draws you closer and what stays with you afterward. That attention is something I want to carry into my own photography.
This time, there are images I’m particularly proud of. It feels good to say that—to look at something I’ve made and want to give it a life beyond a screen.
I’m considering turning some of these photographs into a coffee table book, perhaps even one to publish. It’s still an idea, but an exciting one. I want to explore how the images might work across printed pages: which photograph should open the book, which ones belong together, and where to let a single image have the space to speak for itself.
That will mean making choices. Some favorites may work beautifully on their own but feel out of place in a sequence. Others might become more interesting beside an unexpected companion. I’m curious to see what emerges when I start putting them together.
For now, this post is a first step: sharing a little of Zurich and acknowledging that I came home with photographs I want to do more with.
A few museum visits, a collection of images, and the beginnings of a book. That feels like a lovely thing to bring back from a trip.
